These fares are almost always more expensive than other discounts! If you do find one that is cheaper, military ID card holders (active duty, family members, etc) are the only ones who qualify. There are no discounts (that we know of) for parents, siblings, etc. Most major hotel chains offer military discounts, so always ask, but compare prices! They aren't always better. ArticleHi Everyone, Well another year is upon us and I don't know about you, but I am thinking about my next vacation. The problem is : - Where do we go?
- When do we go?
To start planning a vacation, I have found that I need to start with the basics. What do we want to do: - Go on a cruise
- Go to an all-inclusive resort
- Travel to a vacation city in the US or Abroad
- or maybe travel just a few hours from home
Next choose how to get there: - fly
- drive
- take a train
- or a bus
Then, what type of lodging: - Hotel/Motel
- Hostel
- Condo
- Camping
- Bed & Breakfast
Finally, now that I have the basic questions answered, I need to find the balance between being economical, without compromising quality. To do this, I check several different websites and compare prices. Try not to limit myself to a specific place, just a general area. Once I have 3 to 5 different choices written down, then it's time to decide when we are going. For most trips, advance reservations are needed or even maybe cheaper. On the flip side, some cruises have last minute specials. Keep this in mind when putting in for leave. Please email me with help in planning your next vacation, even if you don't know where to go. If you do know where you want to go, I may be able to help you save time and money by suggesting some websites that may be of interest to you. I am also open to suggestions or websites pertaining to travel. Remember, military has its benefits. Enjoy your vacation!! Sincerely, Tiffany ****Next time: look for travel tips and FYI****
