Dump Cakes

Recipe 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 small can crushed pineapple
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup coconut
  • 1 stick butter, melted

Spread cherry pie filling on bottom of a 9x13 baking dish. Sprinkle cake mix on top of pie filling. Sprinkle pineapple with juice on top of cake mix. Sprinkle pecans and coconut. Pour butter over all other ingredients. Bake at 325 for 1 hour.

Recipe 2

Very easy and delicious. Great recipe for kids to put together themselves! Just "dump" the ingredients into a pan and bake!

Ingredients:
1 can cherry pie filling
1 20 oz. can crushed pineapple with juice (do not drain)
1 yellow cake mix (dry, straight out of the bag)
1 8 oz. bag chopped walnuts or pecans (your preference)
1 7 oz. bag flaked or shredded coconut
1/4 cup butter, melted (1 stick)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Take out, but do not prepare, 13x9 inch baking pan.

Dump cherry pie filling and undrained pineapple into pan. Spread around to combine fruit just a little. Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over the fruit. Sprinkle nuts and coconut over cake mix. Drizzle butter evenly over nuts and coconut.

Bake for 40 to 50 minutes, or until coconut looks toasty. Let cool for 15 minutes or so. Serve with or without Ice Cream.

Black Forest Dump Cake

You can vary this dump cake by using apple pie filling and white, golden, or spice cake mix. Serve with whipped cream or soft ice cream.

1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, with juice
1 cup flaked coconut
1 (3.5 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling
1 (18.25 ounce) package chocolate cake mix
1/2 cup butter

Directions
1 Spread pineapple in a 9 x 13 inch pan. Sprinkle a layer of angel flake coconut on top of the pineapple, and then a layer of dry pudding mix. Spread the cherry pie filling evenly over pudding mix, and sprinkle dry cake mix over pie filling. Cut butter into thin slices, and arrange on top of cake mix
2 Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for one hour. Cool.

CHRISTMAS DUMP CAKE

1 (16 ounce) can whole cranberry sauce
1 (21 ounce) can apple pie filling
1 (18.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1/2 cup chopped almonds, walnuts or granola

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
Dump cranberries into an ungreased 9 x 13-inch pan. Dump apple pie filling into pan. Spread mixture evenly and "sift" dry cake mix on top. Cut up butter and dot top of cake. Sprinkle nuts or granola on top of cake. Bake 1 hour and 15 minutes. Cool 10 minutes, then cut into squares. Serve with Cool Whip or ice cream.
