Military Spouse magazine launches its premier issue September 15, 2004

What started as an innovative idea for a Navy spouse has blossomed into a first-ever for the publishing industry: a magazine by, for and about the husbands and wives of men and women serving our country.

The premier issue of Military Spouse will launch Sept 15, 2004. Inside, Alma Powell shares her ghost stories and personal journey as an Army wife. Our "spouse experts" will offer tips not only on keeping the home fires burning, but rekindling the flames when a long-absent partner returns. Financial advice specific to military life will help families make the most of their money. Our professional interior designer who's trotted the globe with her Army husband while raising two kids shares her tricks for movable, affordable and tasteful home décor.

The founders of Military Spouse, Elsie Hammond and Babette Maxwell, know first-hand how hard it is to be the better half of a man in uniform. The two Navy wives discovered they weren't the only ones wondering why there wasn't a better way to reach out to their unique peers, men and women who must move from continent to continent with a week's notice, give birth in foreign countries, miss their families for sometimes years at a time and often not know where their spouses are, when or even if they're coming home.

So they took the idea that they and their fellow spouses need a reliable source of information and inspiration and ran with it all the way from their military homes to the printing press.

Military Spouse magazine will available at AAFES and NEX locations in September 15, 2004, or log onto www.militaryspousemagazine.com to buy your subscription today.
