This is the calm after the storm. How many have been through Katrina, Tornados, earthquakes and the like just this year, alone? I have. And I was one of the blessed ones. I went though the storm and all without it overtaking me, without a stretch, actually. I did hear on the news to "take cover" because tornados were coming our way, and so my puppy and I got under the covers!! Well, there's nothing I can do. There's no storm cellar here. And so once again, I had to rely upon Mother Nature to go over us and not through us.

I do see how people have rallied to help those who were devastated by Katrina and the many other natural disasters that came our way. How many testimonies have we heard of how people came together to help those in need. I have heard those who didn't feel people came to their rescue quickly enough. You know, we always hear those stories and they may be true. However, it doesn't bring help for us to complain. Just state your need and Thank those who step up to the plate. And, in time, we don't forget to make ourselves available to others.

There are always someone who needs a baby setter for a few hours, always someone who can use a baked pie, or cake, or cookies for the children's (or adults) snack. Do you know anyone who needs a ride to the doctors office, or someone who just needs a friend to have tea with, to share their bountiful gardens view, or to encourage that one that has lost a loved one. Take them out to run errands, or just for a light lunch, a car ride though the country side.

When I lost my loved one, there was this elderly lady from the church that came over to take me out to run errands and to lunch. She used coupons, her senior discount, and anything else she had in her favor, and we had wonderful day. We laughed and laughed and it was such sweet fellowship and, need I say, she didn't spend a lot, either.

I have found a ministry called Life Skills - learning to love, learning to live, which has proven to be quite liberating for me. It's a really great support group, most of whom has more problems that I do.

Enjoy the awakening of nature and the sunlight of spring and share it with someone.
