Mailing Tips

Military Address Tips

Use the service member's full name, military organization or unit, and APO/FPO address.

Do not include the country name in the address.

Mail addressed "Any Service Member" Is Not Available.

Package Tips

The United States Postal Service is offering free packing materials to spouses and families of military members who are deployed overseas. Call: 1-800-610-8734

They will send boxes, packing materials, tape and mailing labels. You will also receive pre printed mailing labels with your address on them and custom forms. You will be given an ID Number for reorders. Best of all the supplies come directly to your home! Also free from your local Post Office: "A Customer's Guide to Mailing".

Package things tightly together or use newspaper, bubble wrap, or Popcorn. Plain  popcorn is good for cushioning; it's inexpensive and a great snack!

Put the delivery and return addresses on one side using a Customs Form.

Suggestion: Place a return address label inside the package.
